Studiyo legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information Studiyo processes, why we process it, and the choices available to you.
Last updated August 21, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Studiyo’s website, study tools, and related services. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
2. Information we process
We process information needed to provide and secure Studiyo, including:
- Account information, such as your email address, authentication provider identifier, and account settings.
- Profile and study information, such as a display name, selected preferences, practice activity, answers, saved vocabulary, progress, and study plans.
- Transaction information necessary to manage a paid plan. Payment-card information is processed by our payment provider rather than stored by Studiyo.
- Limited technical and security information, such as device and browser details, logs, and identifiers needed to operate, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot the service.
- Optional, minimized product analytics when you enable them in Settings. These events are designed not to include question text, answers, email addresses, display names, billing data, or session replay.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and study features; preserve progress; personalize the tools you choose to use; process payments; protect the service; communicate about your account; understand product reliability; and comply with legal obligations.
When you request an AI-assisted feature, relevant study context may be processed to generate that feature. AI output is not a substitute for independent review.
4. Service providers and sharing
We use service providers to operate Studiyo, including providers for authentication and data storage, hosting and AI processing, payment processing, email delivery, and—when enabled—product analytics. They may process information only to provide their services to us and subject to their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users and Studiyo, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Your choices
You can update profile details and several privacy preferences in Settings. You can turn off optional product analytics and public leaderboard visibility there. You may also request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account information by contacting us. We may need to verify your request and retain limited information where law, security, billing, or recordkeeping requires it.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide Studiyo, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. International processing
Studiyo and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
8. Children
Studiyo is intended for students aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Policy changes
We may update this policy as Studiyo changes or applicable requirements evolve. The date above identifies the most recent revision.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact accounts@studiyo.org.
